Meld Fever is made and published by André Lopes, who is responsible for the data described here. For any privacy question or request, write to [contact email to be added].

The short version: the game works without an account and without sharing anything. Gameplay statistics are off until you say yes. Finished Endless and Daily runs go to the public leaderboards under a random name unless you pick one. There are no ads today.

On your device

Your progress, settings, records and Daily streak are saved in this browser (or in the app on your phone). They stay there. Clearing site data removes them.

Optional gameplay statistics

The first time you play, the game asks whether to share gameplay statistics. Choose “No thanks”, or turn off “Share play stats” in Settings at any time.

When you opt in, the game creates a random identifier in this browser and sends gameplay events through our Netlify endpoint to PostHog in the EU. Events describe tutorial progress, runs and tables, melds, scores, chains, Fever, retries, pauses and returns, rejected moves, the clock, the game mode and seed, the build version and whether you use touch or a mouse. If you send feedback from Pause, we get the reason you pick from the list. There is no free-text field.

If the game hits a script error while statistics are on, it also sends a short crash report: the error type, its message (with web addresses, email addresses and long numbers removed), where in the game's code it happened, and your current game progress. At most five crash reports are sent per visit. Nothing you typed is included.

Statistics never include names, email addresses, saves, screenshots, recordings, location or your IP address. The identifier is random and not linked to you. Events wait on your device for up to seven days if you're offline. Turning statistics off deletes anything still waiting and the identifier; events already sent stay with PostHog, and you can ask us to delete them.

We rely on your consent for statistics, and you can withdraw it at any time.

Leaderboards

Finished Endless and Daily runs are posted to the public daily and weekly boards on the web version. A post contains the run's score details (score, table reached, payout, seed and mode) and the name shown on the board. That name starts as a random “Player XXXX” and changes only if you choose one in Records; don't use your real name if you'd rather not.

The game keeps a random secret in this browser. The server stores only a one-way hash of it, so the board can mark your own row and nobody else can post under it. Boards reset daily and weekly, and old entries are kept only as long as the boards need them. We may rename or remove names and scores that break the Terms. Clearing site data starts a new leaderboard identity.

We run the leaderboards because you play a mode that has them (our legitimate interest in providing the feature you use).

Who handles the data

Netlify hosts the game, the leaderboards and the statistics endpoint; like any host, it keeps short-lived server logs of requests. PostHog (EU cloud) stores statistics for players who opted in. Both act on our behalf.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, for it to be corrected or deleted, or object to how it's used, by writing to [contact email to be added]. Because statistics and leaderboard entries are tied only to random identifiers, tell us your leaderboard name and roughly when you played so we can find them. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.

Children

If you're under 16, ask a parent or guardian before turning on statistics or choosing a leaderboard name.

Changes

If this page changes, the date at the top changes too. If we ever add ads or anything else that uses your data differently, the game will ask you first.
